region 8 years ago. These activities included organizing
training courses to train the Arab cadres in the fields of
the exploitation of the rain water and the protection of the
groundwater resources from pollution and depletion ; making
researches on the above subjects ; and supporting the
exchange of experience and knowledge among the Arab experts
through the use of the information techniques and the
Internet . The meetings include drawing up suitable plans
that can be put into operation during the next period ( 2005
– 2006) in the field of training and the carrying out of
research and studies in the Arab region |

It is worth mentioning that ACSAD assumes
the role of coordinator of the activities of the Wadi

The meeting of the Steering Committee of the
Digital Water Map of the Arab World includes finding an
appropriate mechanism that allows the provision of a prompt
and direct idea about the water resources conditions in the
Arab world and the investments on these resources and their
quality through the preparation of an Arab integrated water
database linked with the Geographic Information System (GIS)
through which different types of maps can be produced giving
a comprehensive and accurate picture about the different
conditions of the water resources in the Arab region noting
that this database can be linked with water institutes and
water research centers in the Arab world. ACSAD has prepared
this database and linked it with the Geographic Information
System |
