Two Training Courses to be Held at ACSAD
ACSAD will hold a training course on rainwater harvesting techniques during 14-28 February 2006 for 15 specialists from the Ministry of Water Resources in Iraq. This course, which is financed by UNESCO, will be held at ACSAD’s headquarters in Damascus, Syria and it will deal with the following subjects: -The new scientific methods of managing the water resources. - Rainwater harvesting techniques. - The use of mathematical models in designing rainwater harvesting (WMS and HYDROMED systems). - Introduction to the uses of the Geographic Information System (GIS) in rainwater harvesting. ACSAD will organize a second training course on the management of irrigation and fertigation during the period 6 March- 2April 2006 for 20 trainees from English-speaking African countries. This course will be held at ACSAD’s headquarters in Damascus and at ACSAD’s research station in Deir Ezzor with funding provided by the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA). |
