ACSAD research, studies and activities are carried out through:

• ACSAD research stations  and training centers in Syria where its headquarters is located.

• The specialized research stations and training centers in the other Arab countries.

• The remote sensing and GIS Laboratory for the digital processing of satellite images and map production for monitoring of desertification phenomena and plant cover in Arab countries.

• The soil physical and chemical analysis laboratory for the analysis of soils, plant and water to access the nutrient status of soils quality of irrigation water and salinity-alkalinity hazards in Arab countries.

• A cartography section.

• The computer unit.

• Cooperation with the Arab and international organizations in carrying out the research work and studies and training the Arab technical cadres.

• Establishing a link between the results of research and studies and practical application on a large scale.

• Carrying out research and studies and conducting training as an executing agency for the funding institutions and the Arab and international organizations.
