On the sidelines of the 35th session of the Islamic Development which was held in Baku, Azerbaijan during the period 23-24 June 2010, Dr. Rafik Ali SALEH, Director-General of the Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Lands (ACSAD) met with the President of the Islamic Development Bank, the President of the International Fund for Agricultural Development and the Director-General of the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas.
Dr. SALEH presented a paper during the 21st Annual Seminar of the Islamic Development Bank in which he explained that the Arab countries suffer from a great food gap in cereals, meats and dairy products. He also spoke about the role of ACSAD in bridging this food gap via its programs and projects in the fields of plant and animal production.
