Summary
ACSAD has become an expertise house because of its long
experience and its excellent reputation. It has carried out
field studies and scientific and applied researches and organized
training courses on different fields (water, soil, plant
production, animal production , and environment) through funding
provided by Arab governments, Arab and international organizations
and technical cooperation agencies in advanced countries.

Implementing integrated projects through which integrated
researches and studies are carried out dealing with a number
of agricultural resources at the same time (soil, climate,
rangelands, animal wealth, etc. ) in addition to supplemental
socioeconomic studies in a specific area in an Arab country
or in specific areas in some neighboring Arab countries. The
studies lead to the drawing up of an integrated plan for developing
the targeted area.
The transfer of the technical knowledge and modern techniques, which are suitable for the Arab conditions, is one of the main
pivots of ACSAD's work strategy. This pivot depends on the
development of the human force working in the fields of development
and environment in the Arab arid and semi - arid areas to make it capable of using and establishing the new techniques
through the organization of training courses and seminars
on different subjects.
In addition to the training courses organized for trainees
from different Arab countries ACSAD organizes special training
courses on specialized subjects pertaining to ACSAD tasks
and activities.
ACSAD has established three specialized training centers in
Syria where ACSAD headquarters based.
The first one is specialized in training in the techniques
of reclaiming the saline soils as well as irrigation and drainage. The second one is specialized in crops and fruit trees and
the third one is specialized in animal production and rangelands
development.
Moreover, ACSAD cooperates with many Arab and
international training centers.
ACSAD has gained an excellent expertise in the field of training
and the transfer of modern techniques and therefore many Arab
governments and Arab and international organizations request
ACSAD to train their technical personnel in different fields.
